Spring-Summer 2019
In the new collection FLOW the Label brings an urban It-girl to the desert, rethinking the image of Indiana Jones
The main motive of FLOW the Label SS19 collection is an expedition to the hot and sandy African desert. The designer continues to produce everyday clothes, this time adding a pinch of African freedom, excitement from the new journeys, and archaeological excavations.
An inspiration from Meryl Streep character in the film "Out of Africa" can be easily spotted throughout the SS19 collection. Ivory, sandy and beige, dominating the colour palette, rough volume bags, coulisses and bag-like hoods – all seem to be borrowed from the shoulder of the last Middle East nomads.
Despite the fascination with the desert environment, FLOW the Label prefers urban lifestyle. The brand refreshes traditional finery of Bedouins with modern gold accessories, half rings, buttons and decorative stitching. Paying tribute to the iconic image of Indiana Jones, FLOW the Label adds elements of the menswear to the collection – a corsage belt from classic men's trousers, relaxed silhouettes, denim and rough patch pockets.
FLOW the Label’s spring-summer collection is quite heavily detailed. This season the designer uses a variety of draperies, cringles, twill tapes and prints. The choice of fabrics successfully corresponds to the collection idea – linen, ramie, silk and knitwear suit best to the outfits of modern nomads.
In the new season FLOW the Label continues to cooperate with Portem Designs, presenting an accessory line. Shoes for the show are provided by Intertop, the brand that represents a number of European and American shoe labels at the Ukrainian market. Make-up is created by MAC.
